Casares

Casares is a municipality in the province of Málaga, in the autonomous community of Andalucía, in southern Spain. It is located on the border with the province of Cádiz, in the region of the Western Costa del Sol. It limits to the northwest with the municipality of Gaucín; to the north with the municipalities of Benarrabá and Genalguacil, with which also limits to the northeast; to the east it borders Estepona; to the south with Manilva and the Mediterranean Sea; and to the west with San Roque, San Martín del Tesorillo and Jimena de la Frontera, in the province of Cádiz. Casares is the prototype of the white Andalusian village: narrow, steep and winding streets and whitewashed houses. In addition, it is the birthplace of Blas Infante, considered the "Father of the Andalusian Fatherland".
